Summer Makeup 🌞

Hi everybody,

For this blog post I’ve decided to put together some of the best summer makeup looks. If you want to have a look at some easy looks that don’t require too much hassle here are a few I’ve put together.

For my first look I decided that I would create a bright, yet natural look that will be perfect for everyday and holidays. All you need is bright red lips and winged eyeliner on white and brown eyeshadow.

image

For the next look I chose to have a light brown/gold eyeshadow. This is a very natural eye makeup look and if you want little hassle when creating a makeup look, then this would be good for you. Combining it with light pink lips, completes a summer makeup look.

image

For the next makeup look I decided to create an evening look, that would be perfect for going out and give a smokey eye effect. For this I used black eyeshadow, black gel eyeliner and black eyeshadow pencil with deep red lips.

image

For the final look for summer I created a purple and blue eye look, so that your eyes look bright and vibrant. This look makes your eyes pop and combined with a nude lip colour, brings attention to your eyes making them stand out.

Hope this has helped to give you some more makeup ideas for summer!!!

Step by step eyeliner

Hi everybody,

This friday I’ve decided to do a step by step on eyeliner, since it can be difficult to do sometimes and every girl out there knows the struggle of trying to get eyeliner looking the best.

I will try to help out and show you my tips on how to get your eyeliner looking great!!

Now when I do my eyeliner I do tend to use a variety of makeup products, such as liquid liner, gel liner and pencil liner. I’m going to show how to use each to create a pretty eyeliner look that can be used for any occasion.

The first eyeliner I’m going to use is liquid, I do like using this as sometimes it can be easy to put on or it can get messy. The liquid liner I have been using is Rimmel London glam eyes professional liner. It has been very easy to use and gives a nice solid, black line around my eyes.
image
What I tend to do first with liquid is draw a line from the end of my eyelid, now you can use the thin brush that comes with the different liquid eyeliners or you can use an eyeliner brush. I used the little brush that comes with the liquid liner.

After drawing the line I then drew another line back towards my eyelid, creating a triangle shape. This technique is good of you prefer drawing winged eyeliner free hand.

The next liner I used is the gel eyeliner by Maybelline New York and is the lasting drama for up to 24 hours eyeliner. This comes with a cute 2 in 1 brush that lines and smudges. This is really good and does last for quite a long time with a thick black line.
image

Again I drew my winged eyeliner using the same techniques as before. I sometimes find using concealer to neater up the edges around the liner and gives it a sharper shape.

The final liner I love using is the Estรจe Lauder double wear pencil liner. This is is also a 2 in 1 with two colours on one pencil. The onyx black colour is great for an evening look and the coffee colour is perfect for a light everyday liner. This again is another great product as it gives a great definition to eyes.
image

When creating this look I decided to tape for the pencil liner, to help give it a sharp flick and define the liner. This is a different technique that you can apply to any of your liners, but I think it works best with pencil.

Hope this has been some help when applying your eyeliner, as well as seeing what different products I have used.

Bare Minerals Contouring

Hi everyone,

So in this blog I have decided to do a face contouring with the Bare Minerals Ready To Go Complexion Perfection Palette.

I hope you agree and that I’m not the only one, but I find contouring really difficult. Mainly because if you get the shades wrong it looks like you’ve just wiped bad fake tan all over your skin. And that just does not look good at all, especially in summer!!

However I have decided to have a go and see if I can do this and maybe this will also help you too.

I really love the Bare Minerals kit, it comes in a cute case that you can take pretty much anywhere with you and inside are some neat little brushes that are soft on your skin. When I got this kit I went for the lightest tones one, as my skin is really light and anything else would just look a little orange(not a good look!) But they did have many other tones available which is really handy too.

The kit comes with a foundation, touch up veil, bronzer, luminizer and a concealer. I thought this was pretty good considering buying each product would get expensive. There is also a little booklet that comes with the kit to help you if your a bit of a novice(like me), which is really helpful.

image

Now this is the fun part, completely changing how you look without makeup on. I start by priming my face with the Maybelline New York Baby Skin instant pore eraser primer and when combined with the kit makes it look like you have little or even no pores.

I will then use Rimmel London Match Perfection Light Porcelain liquid foundation as a base before I use the kit and I also use a beauty blender to apply the foundation.

Now when applying the Bare Minerals kit I begin with the foundation and I use the little brushes provided as they are really useful. This foundation helped to smooth my face over and set the luquid foundation in place.

image

I then applied the next layer which was the Touch Up Veil, this also helps to keep all the foundation in place and adds a little colour so that my face isn’t as light, but without looking orange.

image

From there I then began to add bronzer to my cheekbones, this is to help shape and contour my face. I also created a large three shape from the side of my forehead to my cheeks and then just under my jawline. I also apply bronzer on the side of my nose to make it appear smaller and add shading.

image

After using this I then highlight just slightly above where I applied the bronzer and then just underneath between my cheekbone and my jaw. I also highlight the top of my nose, cupid bow and the middle of my chin. I also add the luminizer in the middle of my forehead.

image

Finally I apply concealer under my eyes and above just to make them appear brighter and then if there are any other areas on my face that need blending out.

image

Here is the finished result, I also added some eyeliner just so that I have something more round my eyes. Also so that you can see what it would look like together.

image

Here is also some extra contouring templates to help you guys out.

Hope this helped in contouring and that my contouring wasn’t so bad. Let me know what you think in the comments and please like and share.

Red Eyeshadow!!!

Hi everybody,

For this post I wanted to do a step by step for red eyeshadow. This eyeshadow shade would be perfect for going out or even prom, with the right dress!!

For this design I looked at many different styles and then with the colours I have, I created this look.

Now before every look I prep my eye using the maybelline Baby Skin primer and follow that with foundation and concealer. I use the Bare Minerals lightest concealer and Rimmel London ivory foundation.

On to the fun part, when creating this look I decided to use the most natural colour that would be a base for the eyeshadow. I chose an off white, browny colour but anything similar will do.
image

From there you want to now add the red, which will help when blending and adding in darker shades. I decided to use a red lip crayon by Colour Institute. This is because I didn’t have any bright enough reds, but you can use whatever reds you have to create this look.

image

You want to create a think red line that will go just above the crease on your eye and then underneath on your lower lash line. Don’t worry if it’s too much red you will be blending it out which will soften the colour.

Now you will want to take a slightly darker red and blend that into the crease and above, as well as taking a little bit underneath the eye. You’ll want to blend it well and make sure to blend out the other red with it. I used a fluffy brush for this as it blends the best.
image

After this I now add deeper reds/purples to create a smokey red effect. I decided to blend in two different colours to make it darker. I kept the same brush which was firm and fluffy when combining the two colours. I then blended them in the corner of my eye and slightly bringing it across.
image

After muh blending and adding a few layers of colour, I then moved onto adding a golden center to my eye. This will really make the eyeshadow stand out and will blend well together. I really like this colour as it is so glittery!!
image

Now after adding the gold eyeshadow and blending it with the rest of the colours, I will now add a much lighter eyeshadow toward the inner part of the eye.
image

After adding the silvery eyeshadow, I now add my black eyeliner as one of the finishing touches. I use gel eyeliner in Noir Black by Maybelline. Just add a simple flick to the edge of the eye and line all around the top and the water line. You’ll want the line to be quite thick but not covering too much of your eye, so that you can still see the eyeshadow.
image

Then just add mascara and if you want false eyelashes, there you have it a dramatic red and gold eyeshadow look!!

image

Perfect for going out or maybe you want to experiment yourself with different colours, if it’s your prom here’s a good idea to get an eye catching eyeshadow!!!
image

Hope you liked this idea and give it a go yourself. You don’t have to use the same products, anything that is similar will work too!!! Leave a comment if you want to see something else and let me know what you think or if you have tried it yourself.

Spring Blogging

Hi everyone,

I realise it has been a really long time since my last blog and I apologise for it being so long. The reason it’s been so long is because I had no idea what to write and I’ve had so much college work.

But I’m back! Now for ages I have been looking at the different techniques on how to apply makeup, as well as what type of makeup is best for applying. I have found that there are so many techniques, from using tape to get makeup even, to using special brushes that will get your look spot on.

Now everybody is different with these types of techniques, some will work and others, well not so much. When I looked at these techniques I wanted the easiest and simplest way to do them. I am going to share this with you all and hopefully you’ll find it easier too.

My first lot of techniques are going to be for eye makeup, but there will be more for face and if you have any suggestions on what you might like to see comment below or if you like or don’t like just let me know.

Now with every technique I have found that priming your face it definitely what you must do for the best looks and it does help protect your skin. The primer I use is by Maybelline New York and is called Baby Skin, which is an instant pore eraser but is a good lightweight primer that makes you skin smooth.

image

I apply only a small amount on my eyelid and around my eye to make it appear smoother. My makeup will also go on nicely as well.

image

I then apply concealer on and around my eye, which is by Bare Minerals and is part of their Ready to go kit. This is really good as it is a palette of all the key makeup, such as foundation, bronzer and concealer. I only use a little concealer as too much will make my eye heavy my makeup won’t blend as well.

image

Now onto the eyeshadow part, I love doing this and experimenting with colours. I’m going to do a simple smokey eye look that will be natural and more for day makeup. Now the palette I’m using is by LaRoc and is the beginners collection, which has 120 natural eyeshadow tones.

I bought this off amazon along with the brushes I’m going to be using. I found that these are amazing to use and I really do think they are worth checking out.

Now I am going to apply the first layer, with a medium soze brush. You don’t want the brush to be too big or too small and then from there you want a light colour. I’m using a very light brown which is a little glittery, but you can use a matte light brown as well.
image

image

Next I’m going to take a smaller brush and just above my eyelid I’m going to apply a darker shade. For this im using a matte brown colour, as this will be better for creating a dark line, which we can then blend. You also want to take the brush and move it from the outer corner to roughly three quaters. So not too close to the inner corner of your eye. This creates a brown line that can then be blended.
image

You will want to take a fluffy brush now and blend the line down towards your eyelid, but not too much. Just lightly and also you’ll want your eye to stand out more by doing this. If you feel that maybe its too light now, simply go back over the eye using the smaller brush and same brown colour and very lightly apply the colour to the same place.
image

Now from there you want to add a very dark brown, which can be matte or glittery depending on what you want it to look like. I’m going to be using a glittery, dark brown that is darker than before. I am also going to use a slightly bigger brush than before, but not as big as the first brush I used.
image

I will then apply the shade to the outer corner of my eye and move towards the inner corner but leave space for the lighter shade so that you can see the change in colour. I will also use the fluffy brush again to blend the colours together and give a smokey effect.

For extra effect I will also use the same dark, glittery brown and underline the eye using this colour.
image

Also I’m going to use a brown eyeliner pencil to keep the makeup looking natural. I use the Double Wear eye pencil by Estฤ“e Lauder, which is really good.

image

Now you could stop here and apply mascara, but I am going to apply a little wing to finish off the look. Now I am going to use Maybelline New York, Lasting Drama Gel eyeliner in Noir Black. I really love this eyeliner as it is really easy to use and is great for defining your look. This also comes with a 2 in 1 brush, which means you can smudge as well as create your wing.

image

Now I will also do a step by step for how to do wing eyeliner soon. But for now I will give a brief idea of my winged eyeliner. Now after drawing on a wing, if you wanted, add mascara after curling your eyelashes. The mascara I use is by Estฤ“e Lauder and is Sumptuous Extreme mascara. This is great for making your eye lashes appear bigger and longer.
image

image

There you have it a smokey eye look!!
Hope this was easy for you to follow and please let me know if you liked it or not and leave a comment for a look you would like me to do.

Story writing

Hi everyone,

This blog post I’m making slightly different as I didn’t want to make my blog completely about makeup, but you can still see my makeup on my instagram @fashionfoxxcx

As I said this blog is going to be different as I wanted to talk about my story writing that I do. I kinda started it as a hobby and then found out I really love to write and it is really fun.  I started it while I was at high school and got into creating stories that wasn’t out there, but had a similar idea just different storyline.

I do my writing on Wattpad and it is great for writing stories, but also seeing other people’s work and seeing what they write. It’s crazy how many people love to write and you can find a lot of them on Wattpad. The story I wanted to share though is my story that is doing really well right now and it’s called Elements.

image

I have to say I’m pretty proud of this so far, but it does need to be finished. This is my brief summary and there is no spoilers;

“What would you do if you knew you were going to die? For Evelyn she needed to keep secret what she could do, especially from her father and sister. After all they were the ones to ban anything strange and magical. With little time left for her, Evelyn needs to pick her loyalty to the human world or the magical one.”

I really do love how this book is turning out and I will be trying to finish it so that is is finally completed. If you want to have a look at the website here is the link: http://www.wattpad.com

image

You will need to sign up but it’s quick and easy to do and of course free. You can also comment and vote on other people’s stories and even make your own. If you want to check out my work my username is @firefoxxcx and you can read Elements for yourself!

Hope you liked this blog post and remember to stay awesome!!!!!
